Declared by Pantone as the fashion color for 2018 Ultra Violet has conquered shop windows, shops and catwalks.
Often considered a color that is not easy to combine and is carefully dodged by superstitious people, purple actually represents empathy, the ability to identify with others.
If in 2017 the choice was “Greenery”, a sort of “hope” green reminiscent of spring, for 2018 we returned to a shade similar to that proposed in 2014, the “Radiant Orchid”, an expressive, creative purple and enveloping.
However, this year’s one has an edge: “Ultra Violet is a color that induces meditation to be practiced more and more often in the frenzy of modern everyday life”.
PANTONE 18-3838 is a bright, intense and saturated almost vibrant color, it is defined as an intensely provocative and reflective shade of violet capable of communicating originality, ingenuity and a visionary thought that indicates the future.
Isn’t that one of your favorite colors? Undecided on what to buy of this color? The Ultra Violet total look is perhaps too much ? we at Glack recommend a unique and particular accessory without exaggerating and at the same time being attentive to fashion trends, the handmade glass bow tie Dark Violet and Violet Square!
Purple is a color that calms and promotes meditation and inspiration, in harmony it represents creativity and spirituality, over time it has been a symbol of counterculture, of the breaking of the rules, and of the artistic talent, often worn despite the superstition in the world of the show, by pop stars like Prince, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix, by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who wore a purple cloak to feel more creative, and by composer Wagner.
Moreover, there is no doubt that it is the color of the year, just look at the catwalks to get an idea of the power of Ultra Violet.
Chosen by Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, Moschino and Peter Pilotto (to name a few ..), and with the blessing of Chloé, Marni and Redemption, we are confident that the viola by Pantone will conquer even the most skeptical.
Purple is a complex color. And we live in a complex era. It’s intriguing, fascinating, magical ”(Lee Eisenman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute).
